US internships open to Pinoys

-

A hotel’s front office and kitchen play a key role in creating a favorable impression among guests and patrons because of the high visibility of the customer service it provides and the food it serves.

It is therefore very important that the front office and kitchen operations are directed and manned by well-trained and experienced staff who could attend to the needs and requirements of guests with competence and professionalism.

Filipino students can now get the knowledge and skills required in the hospitality and culinary trade through paid internship programs in the United States that are being made available through International Education Specialists (Inter-Ed).

The 12-month practicum program will provide new Filipino graduates and professionals hands-on instruction and training and give them exposure to American culture and cuisine.

Depending on their fields of special- ization, applicants can choose from the available programs in front office, food and beverage, and kitchen operations and shall also received stipends typically ranging from $10 to $14 per hour.

According to Helen Bartholomew, Inter-Ed founder, the interns stand to gain valuable experience on an international scale that will give them a competitive edge in the global market and at the same time help develop their individual values and attributes, such as self-confidence, independence and maturity.

No service or placement fees will be charged for those who will apply before the end of September 2017.

Now on its 37th year of providing professional services on overseas study, Inter-Ed has a placement record of 7,000-plus students for overseas study and 2,000-plus students for internship.
