26 nabbed for drugs in MM
At least 26 suspected drug users and pushers were arrested in Metro Manila since Friday, police reported yesterday.
In Quezon City, Waldy Bernardo, 38; Ullysses Jermina, Jr., 38; and Denmark Jermina, 36, were arrested at around 1 a.m. yesterday after they challenged bystanders to a fistfight in Barangay Quirino. A sachet of shabu was found in their possession.
Humphrey Tejada, 45, was arrested in a sting in Barangay Talipapa at around 3:30 p.m. Friday. Two sachets of shabu were seized from him.
Angelo Abilis, 24; Jeffrey Bandal, 35; and Micorocel Asensio, 40, were caught in a sting in Barangay Pinyahan just before 3 p.m. Friday. Five sachets of shabu were seized from them.
Danilo Valladores, 59; Carlos Macabenta, 39; and Marcelina Guevarra, 41, were accosted for playing an illegal numbers game in Barangay Capri at around 7 p.m. Two sachets of shabu and marijuana were found in their possession.
In Manila, a sachet said to contain shabu was seized from Myla Gomillo Bello, 60, who was served an arrest warrant for illegal gambling along Hermosa street in Tondo at around 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Abelardo Gangoso Pamanilaga, 54; Eric Dulay Carrera, 36; and Elena Manlapaz Rodriguez, 43, were caught playing cara y cruz, a coin gambling game, along San Francisco street in Tondo at around 1 p.m. Friday.
They face charges of illegal drugs, resisting arrest and illegal gambling after two sachets said to contain shabu, P480 cash prize and three P1 coins used as “flippers” were seized from them.
Tricycle driver Bayani Buenaventura, 42, and pedicab driver Feliz Espina, 46, were arrested by police officers patrolling the corner of Arellano and Estrada streets in Malate at around 12:40 p.m. Friday. Two sachets of suspected shabu were seized from them.
Anita Remollo Lubitana, 48, and Jonathan Esplanada Salas, 45, were caught in a sting at the corner of V. Mapa street and Magsaysay Boulevard in Sta. Mesa at around 7:30 p.m. Friday. Four sachets said to contain shabu and P500 marked money were confiscated from them.
In Makati City, Michael Tugade, 30, and Julio Memeta, 28, were arrested for illegal gambling along Kalayaan Avenue in Barangay West Rembo yesterday. They yielded two sahcets of shabu and drug paraphernalia along with their bets.
Mark Kristian Cataluna, 30, was arrested for relieving himself along P. Binay street in Barangay Bangkal at past 6 a.m. A sachet of shabu was found in his pocket by police officers who frisked him.
Carmencita Rosero, 47, and Gil Reyes, 56, were arrested in a sting along Calatagan street in Barangay Palanan.
In Muntinlupa, construction worker Aladino Omolon, 32, and tricycle driver Benjamin Jose Saplan, 30, were caught using drugs in Barangay Poblacion. They each yielded a sachet of shabu.
Estrelita Pacoma, 55, was arrested for carrying a sachet of shabu at the Santos Compound in Barangay Putatan.
In Pasig, Roel Odang, 40, was shot by an unidentified assailant as he walked along Mangga Extension in Barangay Kalawaan at around 6:15 p.m. Friday.
Odang, who is in the city police’s drug watchlist, remains in serious conditon at an undisclosed hospital.
