AppleOne properties welcomes Asia Pacific Marriott Int’l execs
Executives of Marriott International for the Asia Pacific were in Cebu last month on a construction progress meeting for the forthcoming five-star resort, The Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort.
The two-day event, composed of design and technical meetings and site visits, welcomed personalities from Marriott’s global design team: Belinda Chia, associate director of interior design; Beng Kian Lee, director of project management; Eelco Bohtlingk, director of design development operations; and Weng Leong Chan, vice president of project management. Also on hand were Clint Nagata and Armon Praphavorakorn, founder and chief creative director and head of interior design, respectively, of BLINK Design Group Co. Ltd.
The Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort will stand in a 3.8 hectars property in Punta Engaño, Mactan alongside The Residences at The Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort, a luxury residential development of 190 units. To date, one of the hotel’s four towers has been topped off while construction of the residential tower is now on the 6th floor. The residential tower is targeted to top off within the year.
The project is a development of AppleOne Mactan Inc., a subsidiary of AppleOne Properties Inc. (API). API executive vice president Joy Veloso says the project is on schedule. “We are very excited to work alongside the best and largest hotel operator, Marriott International, during this development and construction phase and as we move toward the project completion and turnover to Marriott operations.”
Veloso looks forward to the project’s contribution to tourism, “The Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort will further place Mactan and Cebu in the forefront of destination options for the millions of SPG and Marriott members and clients worldwide.”
The Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort and The Residences at The Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort will be operated by Marriott International. Sheraton® was previously one of 11 brands owned by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, LCC, one of the world’s largest hotel companies. In September 2016, Marriott International acquired Starwood to create the world’s largest hotel chain.
