Zonta Int’l District 17 conference set

Zonta International District 17, one of Zonta’s 32 districts worldwide, will convene its 19th Zonta Conference at the New World Hotel, Makati City from Sept. 15 to 17.

The most significant event of ZI District 17 this biennium, the conference will bring together decision-makers, toplevel executives, professionals, industrialists and entrepreneurs from 51 clubs in the Philippines and 25 clubs from Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore and Thailand.

Zonta International has been empowering women and girls worldwide through service and advocacy for almost a century. Founded in 1919, Zonta is a global organization of over 30,000 members in 66 countries. Its members constitute a network of advocates and movers, working to improve the legal, political, economic, educational, health, and professional status of women locally and internationally. The conference speakers will tackle topics consistent with the biennium goals of District 17 governor Primitiva Perez-Sison: “One Vision, One Mission, One Voice, One Movement: A Season of Weaving Dreams.”

Zonta International president-elect Susanne von Bassewitz from Dusseldorf II, Germany will be the ZI representative. Zontian Senator Cynthia Aguilar–Villar of the Zonta Club of Las Piñas will keynote the conference. Charo Santos-Concio will be the guest speaker. Virma Vergel de Dios of Zonta Club of Mandaluyong-San Juan is the conference chair.
