Ateneo de Zamboanga alumni group to hold polls
The Ateneo de Zamboanga University Metro Manila Alumni Association (ADZUMMAA), the group of Ateneo de Zamboanga alumni in the National Capital Region and nearby provinces, will hold its regular elections during a general membership meeting on Sept. 30, 2 p.m. at the Penthouse of the Archipelago Building, No. 29 North Avenue, Diliman in Quezon City.
ADZUMMAA is known for its successful implementation of the more than 28-year-old Ateneo de Zamboanga University Faculty Development Program wherein teachers are given advance studies/scholarships to attain masteral/ doctorate degrees, thus improving the quality of education in the school.
Paul Pe, ADZUMMAA president, and membership committee chairman Sammy Santos reiterated the call for younger members to take a more active part in their activities. Pe said younger members should aspire for leadership posts in the elections.
The other officers of the association are Domingo Doroja, vice president; Jaime Panganiban, secretary; Cesar Suñaz, treasurer; Virginia Trinidad, auditor; Edwin Fargas, Emmanuel Belen, Alfredo Suarez, Peter Yap, and Cesar Dayagdag, board members.
The ADZUMMAA holds regular social and sports activities to promote camaraderie and friendship among Zamboangueños from Metro Manila and the nearby provinces.
It conducts an annual golf tournament; a Fiesta Pilar religious celebration and sportsfest; and an annual Christmas party.
