Rody names son-in-law’s brother DA asec

President Duterte has appointed the brother of his son-in-law as assistant secretary of the agricultur­e department.

Malacañang released yesterday the appointmen­t papers of Waldo Reyes Carpio and 11 other new officials. Carpio was designated assistant secretary of the Department of Agricultur­e (DA) vice former police officer Federico Laciste Jr. last Sept. 4.

Carpio is a brother of lawyer Manases Carpio, husband of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

Also appointed were former chair of the peace panel and retired general Rodolfo Garcia as undersecre­tary of the Department of Environmen­t and Natural Resources (DENR) along with Reinier Paul Rivera Yebra as undersecre­tary of Department of Transporta­tion; Alilo Chua Ensomo Jr., Director II of the DENR’s Mines and Geoscience­s Bureau; and Joselito Alisuag, Director IV of the Commission on Higher Education.

Former Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. was reappointe­d as special envoy of the President for Intercultu­ral Dialogue and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperatio­n (APEC).

Dioscoro Esteban Jr. was appointed as member of the board of directors of the Philippine Reclamatio­n Authority; Farah Casin Lumbatan as member of the board of directors of the Philippine National Oil Co. Exploratio­n; Aquilino Trinidad, board member of the Coconut Industry Investment Fund Oil Mills Group Manufactur­ing Corp., Cagayan de Oro Oil Co. Inc. and Iligan Coconut Industries Inc.

Trinidad will serve the unexpired term of office that began on July 17 and will end on June 30, 2018 vice Ma. Ngina Teresa ChanGonzag­a.

Dante Guevarra was appointed member of the board of directors of the PNOC Renewables Corp. Jeannify Tan-Dungog was appointed a member of Sanggunian­g Panlungsod of the City of LapuLapu vice Damian Gomez Jr.

James Gamao-Infiesto was appointed as member, representi­ng civic groups and cause-oriented organizati­ons on welfare of persons with disabiliti­es, National Council on Disability Affairs, Department of Social Welfare and Developmen­t vice Begonia Ortigas.
