Missing University of Baguio student found dead.
BAGUIO CITY – The decomposing body of a teenager reported missing on Sept. 1 was recovered in a creek near the Balabac-Bakakeng road in this city yesterday morning.
Vaughn Carl Dicang, 17, a Grade 12 student at the University of Baguio Science High School, was identified by his cousin Willner Dicang.
Vaughn is the younger brother of the chairman of Barangay Middle Quirino Hill, Oliver Van.
“We have requested for an investigation,” Oliver said as he thanked those who helped them find his brother.
An investigation into the killing is underway.
Oliver said they are initially looking at robbery as the motive because his brother’s cellular phone is missing.
He said Vaughn was not into illegal drugs or any criminal activity. “Bata lang yan, di marunong mag-drugs,” he said.
Siblings stabbed dead
As this developed, a 15-year-old boy stabbed dead his two siblings and critically wounded their mother in Antipolo, Rizal on Wednesday.
The sister and brother of the suspect, aged 9 and 10, respectively, died at the scene. Their mother remained confined at the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center.
The boy, who was believed to be under the influence of illegal drugs when the incident occurred, is under the custody of the Children and Women’s Desk of the Antipolo police.
“The suspect accused his mother of favoritism because she always gave money to the...victims,” Inspector Richard Araneta, commander of the Police Community Precinct 2, said.
Police said they recovered a scissor and a fan knife at the scene.
The father of the children is working abroad.
