3 drug suspects, 4 others shot dead

Three suspected drug personalit­ies and four other persons were killed in shooting incidents in Luzon on Wednesday.

Ernesto Parrenas, 55, and his son Jefferson, 20, allegedly shot it out with police operatives during a drug sting in Barangay Abar 1st, San Jose, Nueva Ecija. Two guns and several sachets of shabu were reportedly recovered from the fatalities.

Alleged drug pusher Sonny Boy Ventura, 27, was repairing his tricycle in Barangay Buliran, Cabanatuan City when a car pulled over and one of the passengers shot him several times.

Farmer Alquin Guia was about to feed his horse when two men approached and shot him several times in Barangay Sta. Maria, San Pablo, Laguna.

Maximo Maulanin died of a gunshot to the head in Barangay Bancal, Carmona, Cavite while an alias Johnny was shot in Barangay Pandan, Real, Quezon.

A man who has yet to be identified was found dead in Sitio Looban, Barangay Balagtas, Batangas City. His head was wrapped in packing tape while his hands were tied with plastic straw.

Police have yet to determine the motives for the killings.

4 hurt in shootings

Four other persons were wounded in gun attacks in Pangasinan and Cagayan on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Noel Movida, 34, a resident of Barangay Banaoang in Mangaldan town, was taken to Region 1 Medical Center for treatment after he was shot in Barangay Buenlag.

Police said Movida is a former drug personalit­y and regularly attends activities for drug surrendere­es.

In Cagayan, Neozep Cayan, Felix Balangyao and Martin Soliman are fighting for their lives following an ambush in Barangay Fugu, Ballestero­s town. The victims were in a Toyota Innova when they were waylaid.

Investigat­ions into the gun attacks are ongoing.
