7 drug suspects killed

Six suspected drug pushers have been killed in police operations in Bulacan and Cagayan while another was shot dead by motorcycle­riding assailants in Bataan.

Carlo Calano, alias Bondat; Allan Cruz, alias Wanbol, and Fernando Cervantes, alias Jayjay, shot it out with antidrug operatives in Barangay Sto. Cristo, Malolos, Bulacan yesterday, police said.

Roberto Morales and Jayson Rodrigo drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Gabon, Abucay and Upper Tuyo, Balanga, Bataan, respective­ly, also yesterday.

Dante Alarde, 43, reportedly fired at police operatives serving warrants of arrest at his residence in Barangay Sto. Niño, San Jose del Monte also in Bulacan on Sunday.

The warrants were issued by Bulacan Regional Trial Court Branch 14 Judge Petrita Bragadime and Bulacan RTC Branch 78 Judge Gregorio Sampaga for frustrated homicide. Police said three sachets of shabu and a gun were recovered from the fatality.

In Cagayan, tricycle driver Jefferson Tamayo, 34, and his cousin were drinking liquor at a convenienc­e store in Barangay Ugac Sur, Tuguegarao when motorcycle­riding men pulled over and shot Tamayo several times yesterday.

Police said Tamayo surrendere­d under Oplan Tokhang last year.

4 shot dead

Meanwhile, police have yet to determine the motives for gun attacks in Cavite, Quezon and Surigao City on Sunday that left four people, including a barangay chairman, dead.

Felipe Achas, 49, chairman of Barangay Mapawa in Surigao City, was allegedly shot by a man whom he accompanie­d to the house of the barangay secretary, Viriginia Echin, to get some documents at around 9:45 a.m.

David Clarence, an American citizen, was shot by motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Mangahan, General Trias, Cavite.

Two men, who have yet to be identified and believed to be victims of summary execution, were found dead in Barangay Niog, Bacoor and Malupak, Lucban, Quezon.
