FFCCCII donates schools for Marawi via Kapuso Foundation

-

GMA Network, Inc. chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon and his top executives recently held a successful meeting with leaders of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) led by its president Domingo Yap at its corporate headquarters in Quezon City. It was announced that FFCCCII will partner with the GMA Kapuso Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the publicly-listed GMA Network, Inc., to donate five public school buildings for war-torn Marawi City after the conflict there ends.

In his speech, Gozon said he admires the hard work, business acumen and tradition of philanthropy of the ethnic Chinese minority in the Philippines, similar to other dynamic ethnic Chinese entrepreneurs all over the Asia Pacific region. He cited the FFCCCII for its many charities and for partnering with GMA Kapuso Foundation in helping.

Meanwhile, FFCCCII president Yap congratulated GMA Network for its success and integrity. Yap said apart from donating five public school buildings for Marawi City through the Kapuso Foundation, he said FFCCCII on July 25 gave P100,000 cash for each of the 101 government soldiers and police killed in the Marawi conflict “as expression of our support, respect and solidarity.”

In December 2016, FFCCCII donated 15 public school buildings for Sulu province in response to Pres. Rody Duterte’s call to assist the region. FFCCCII is also donating drug rehabilitation centers all over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
