Relieved officers of the Caloocan City police will be fielded at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila during protest actions to mark the 45th anniversary of the declaration of martial law on Sept. 21, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced yesterday.

NCRPO chief Director Oscar Albayalde said crowd and disturbance management forces would exercise maximum tolerance in dealing with the protesters.

Albayalde said police officers would disperse the protesters if they become unruly and start destroying government and private properties.

The NCRPO chief said police and military intelligence were closely monitoring the activities of the groups that would conduct rallies.

“We have yet to receive figures on the number of protesters,” Albayalde said.

He said members of the militant group Kadamay and lumads, who are staying at the Quezon City Memorial Circle would join the rallies.

Albayalde said they received information that groups were asking the public to join protest actions against the Duterte administration along EDSA.

Agents of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines have monitored recruitment activities in Southern Tagalog, Central Luzon and Cagayan Valley for the Sept. 21 rallies.
