Taiwan Expo 2017 opens today

All roads lead to SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia today for the Taiwan Expo 2017.

The expo, which is being held from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, will have the theme “Experience Taiwan! Technology, Culture and Tourism” and will emphasize six main aspects: green technology, agricultur­al technology, e-commerce service, Taiwan Excellence, medical technique, and talent exchange, which will highlight Taiwan’s technologi­cal developmen­t in the industries, as well as educationa­l sources and advances in Taiwan

The Taiwan External Trade Developmen­t Council and the Taiwan Associatio­n Inc. Philippine­s brought in top manufactur­ers and suppliers to the country .

Phillip Huang, deputy executive director of Taiwan Expo 2017, said the exhibit is hosting eight theme pavilions: City Marketing, Inno-Tech, Health and Lifestyle, Agricultur­al Tech, Study in Taiwan, Culture and Tourism, General Support, and the Taiwan Associatio­n Philippine­s.

“The exhibition is designed based on current industry developmen­ts and market needs. More than 170 vendors from Taiwan are presenting over 4,500 quality products and services to give Filipino consumers a chance to experience Taiwan without having to fly across the sea,” Huang said.

TECO Deputy Representa­tive James Chu, said the expo is a first of its kind because it is presenting Taiwan in a holistic approach.

“There’s tourism, e-commerce, medical etc.. The main goal of the expo is to be able to provide Filipinos a good opportunit­y of experienci­ng Taiwan, Chu said.
