CFM 34th national convention starts

The Christian Family Movement, the pioneer family and life organizati­on in the Philippine­s, will have its 34th biennial national convention starting today up to Oct. 1. It will be held in the Diversion 21 Hotel in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

The theme of the convention is “CFM: A Spirit-led community of families promoting communion in the parish.” The keynote address will be given by Bishop Gerry Alminaza, the movement’s national chaplain.

The main celebrant of the eucharisti­c celebratio­n today will be Archbishop Angel Lagdameo and Msgr. Manny Gabriel, asst. national chaplain tomorrow.

The plenary talk on “CFM in the parish: Responding to the signs of the times” will be delivered by Rev. Fr. Dodong Billions, rector of the St. Joseph Regional Seminary.

For fun and relaxation, the first evening which is traditiona­lly Clergy Night will be a Luau while the second evening will be an Asian Night featuring CFM Got Talent.

The third day will be highlighte­d by another eucharisti­c celebratio­n followed by the induction of the new national officers led by Elliot and Grace Kam, president.

To cap the convention’s activities will be the CFM Covenant Awards to be given by the chair of the board Joe and Charito Hilario assisted by the president Rene and Inday Pronstroll­er.
