10 house helpers win in 2007 Kasambahay, Kasambuhay search
Ten outstanding domestic helpers were selected from 390 candidates in the second year of the Palawan-sponsored Kasambahay, Kasambuhay Awards, JCI Senate Philippines’ annual search.
Last year, only five awardees were given honors.
This year’s winners are siblings Teresita and Maria Tardecilla, aged 82 and 76 respectively from Manila; Mila Gamboa, 40, Tarlac; Joseph Bayona Jr., 49, Valenzuela City; Lily Primavera, 59, Makati City; Zosima Jumuad, 68, Parañaque City; Wilma Semira, 57, Batangas City; Esteban Amar, 52, Quezon City; Ernestina Rosales, 73, Cebu City; and Teresita Alatan, 58, Zamboanga City.
They will formally receive their awards today in a funfilled event for household helpers at the BF Resort covered tennis court, Carnival Park in Las Piñas. Each winner takes home a trophy, P50,000 cash, and a three-day all-expenses paid vacation spree for two in a plush Palawan vacation spot.
From 3 to 7 p.m., TV personalities Mommy Dionisia, Benjie Paras and son Andre will lead a bevy of talented performers, including Palawan’s own Manila PPS dancers, in the vaudeville-themed Kasambahay, Kasambuhay awards ceremonies with hundreds of domestic helpers expected as audience.
Palawan will fete the winners and attendees and shower both with prizes.
Motivated by inclusivity concerns, JCI first launched Kasambahay, Kasambuhay Pilipinas Awards in 2016 and resolved to do it yearly in partnership with Palawan Express Pera Padala.
