Rody’s new appointees exclude Diño
President Duterte has issued new appointment orders for officials of the Department of National Defense and other agencies but ousted Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) chairman Martin Diño was not among them.
At the same time, the Office of the Executive Secretary disputed Diño’s move to defy the order of new SBMA chair and administrator Wilma Eisma to vacate his post after the Chief Executive issued Executive Order 42, defining the powers and functions of the agency.
Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella said yesterday Eisma’sappointment “effectively dissolved the basis of Mr. Diño’s claim to his office.”
Diño claimed that he has talked with Duterte, along with Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea and special assistant Secretary Bong Go, wherein he was offered a post at the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) as undersecretary for barangay affairs.
In a TV interview, Duterte said he indeed offered the post to Diño. However, Diño’s name was not in the batch of appointment papers released by Malacañang yesterday to the media.
At the defense department, Reynaldo Mapagu was appointed as DND undersecretary, Raul Caballes as assistant secretary, Reynaldo Aninon as Director II, Maria Therese Escolano as Director I, Marlou Salazar as Director II, Claudio Yuoct, Director II, all under the Office of Civil Defense.
Duterte appointed Clarito Magsino as assistant secretary of the Department of Budget and Management, Mark Kristopher Tolentino as assistant secretary at the Department of Transportation, Falconi Millar as secretary general of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, Mary Ann Plata Daytia as commissioner at the National Labor Relations Commission under the Department of Labor and Employment.
