Griffins, Blue Dragons seek key UCBL wins

-

Games today 12 noon – Diliman vs Lyceum-Batangas 2 p.m. – BulSU vs CdSL

Colegio de San Lorenzo hopes to recover lost ground as it takes on Bulacan State University today even as Diliman College tries to sustain its impressive run in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) Season 2 at the Olivarez College gym in Sucat, Parañaque.

Their five-game winning run halted, 82-76, the CdSL Griffins collide with the Gold Gears of Bulacan State University at 2 p.m.

A victory over BulSU, which has lost its last four games, will keep CdSL within striking distance of pacesetting CEU, unbeaten in five games.

“I’m hoping my players realize their mistakes the last time out and put to good use the lessons they gained,” said CdSL coach Boni Garcia.

The Diliman Blue Dragons, on the other hand, go for their third straight win and fifth overall in six games against the Lyceum-Batangas Pirates at 12 noon.

The Blue Dragons expect another easy outing with Senegalese Adama Diakhite leading their charge against an all-Filipino Lyceum-Batangas frontline.

Diliman coach Rensy Bajar, however, refused to count the Brahmans out.

“We cannot take them lightly. We should play with the same intensity that we are showing when we’re going up against the league’s heavyweights,” said Bajar.

The Gold Gears, down at 1-4, will be led by reigning league MVP Dominck Fajardo.
