Emond received the Stella Artois Jay Scott Prize in 2015 from the Toronto Film Critics Association. It is an award given to promising artists.
Maledimiele (Oct. 22) — Benedetta Gargari is Sara, a beautiful 15-year-old girl with a seemingly perfect life. However, pressures and anxieties lead her to develop an eating disorder and a misadventure at a school trip threatens to expose her secrets
Maledimiele is coined after the first phase of an eating disorder, when it first feels good. It is this struggle with the self that is at the center of this Marco Pozzi feature. The movie premiered at the 67th Venice Film Festival. It received the Special Prize at the Fiuggi Family Festival, a festival sponsored by the Fiuggi Family Festival Association and the Italian Ministry of Culture. Gargari, who gave a spectacular performance, was named Best Actress

Into Paradiso (Oct. 29) — The tragi-comedy stars Gianfelice Imparato and Saman Anthony as two men from different worlds who develop a strong friendship after overcoming dangerous situations. Imparato is Alfonso, a down-on-his-luck scientist involved with the mob, while Anthony is a washed-up Sri Lankan cricket star.
The movie was Paola Randi’s directorial debut. Despite being her first film, Randi was not afraid to be unconventional and make use of various media in the movie, such as stop motion animation and surreal video drama. Into Paradiso won Best Film at the Bimbi Belli Festival and received multiple nominations at the David di Donatello Awards and at the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists.
