Taiwan group holds expo at SMX
The Taiwan Association in the Philippines is a social civic group of Taiwanese businessmen in the Philippines for 36 years now.
The organization is credited for conducting various activities, which have contributed to the improvement of the welfare of both Filipino and Taiwan nationals living in the Philippines.
Green Trade Project Office (GTPO), the international trade promotion arm of the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, recently mounted the Green Technology Pavilion at the Taiwan Expo 2017. The event took place at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Mall of Asia Complex. It brought together renowned Taiwanese companies who introduced their latest products for the first time in the country.
The Green Technology Pavilion focuses on green technologies with applications specifically for the Philippine market as well as practical products and solutions aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the Filipinos. TECO displayed its five-seater electric tricycle designed for the local market. Sino-American Silicon Products, Inc. (SAS), on the other hand, showcased its 50megawatt solar power plant in Palo.
Taiwan Expo 2017 demonstrated Taiwan’s ability to provide total solutions through system integration of renewable energy technologies, energy storage, energy-saving management systems, transmission and distribution through power supply.
The GTPO is sponsored by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan, and serves as the primary think-tank that helps craft policies supporting development of green trade in Taiwan.
Starting this year, GTPO, through the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), a non-profit trade promotion organization in Taiwan, has been tasked to enhance the local green industry and products for export. TAITRA is jointly sponsored by the government, industry associations and several commercial organizations to assist Taiwanese businesses.
