Jo Koy to perform in Manila & Cebu
Stand-up comedian Jo Koy, known around the world for his comedic storytelling of his Filipino family, will make his headlining debut in the Philippines as he returns home for a series of shows in Manila and Cebu as announced by show promoter MMI Live.
The Fil-Am funnyman is slated to perform at The Theatre at Solaire Resort & Casino on Nov. 30 and Dec. 3, and at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu on Dec. 1.
“Everyone’s been asking me, ‘When you gonna be at the Philippines?’ ‘Come to the Philippines.’ Well guess, what?... I’m coming back to the Motherland! I can’t wait,” he said in a video on his official Facebook page.
From selling-out clubs and theaters across the globe to releasing his third stand-up special on Netflix, Jo Koy has come a long way from his modest start performing at a Las Vegas coffee house. With his infectious, explosive energy onstage, the comedian pulls inspiration from his family that in- spires humor across all boundaries. In 2005, Koy had the “opportunity of a lifetime,” when he performed in The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Since then, Koy has had two highly-rated and successful comedy specials on Comedy Central, Don’t Make Him Angry and Lights Out. This year, Koy released Jo Koy: Live from Seattle as a Netflix Original.
Featured in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Call with Carson Daly, Koy has also appeared on over 100 episodes of Chelsea Lately as a season regular roundtable guest.
