2 suspects, 5 others shot dead

Two suspected guns-forhire were killed in an alleged shootout with police operatives in Pangasinan on Tuesday.

Five other persons were gunned down in Sorsogon, Batangas and Quezon in the past two days.

Motorcycle riders Bernabe Abarratigu­e, alias Jun, and an alias Joy drew their guns when told to pull over in Barangay Dorongan Punta, Mangatarem, Pangasinan.

Police set up a mobile checkpoint after receiving reports that the suspects were targeting the owner of a general merchandis­e store in Barangay Poblacion.

Two caliber .45 pistols and a motorcycle were recovered from the fatalities.

Edwin Pura, a certain Kayla and an unidentifi­ed man were having a drinking spree in a bar in Baran- gay Pinuntinga­n in Gubat, Sorsogon when two men arrived and opened fire.

In Batangas, Rodolfo Palomo Jr. was drinking liquor with his friends in Barangay Poblacion, Padre Garcia when a man wearing a black jacket and bonnet approached and shot him twice.

Rhine Christine Alcala, 38, was driving her Honda Mobillo ( DT-2436 ) when motorcycle-riding men shot her several times. She was declared dead on arrival at the Lucena United Doctors Hospital.

Alcala is the former wife of the nephew of Quezon Rep. Vicente Alcala, Sahjid Alcala, who surrendere­d under Oplan Tokhang last year.

The killing is the fourthcase of death under investigat­ion by the Lucena police this month.
