ON SETTLING DOWN WITH A HAPPY HOME COMMUNITY IN KATIPUNAN
For most families starting out, there is nothing more fulfilling than finally settling down and moving into a residence you can proudly call your home. Not only will you be ensured with security and contentment for the days to come, but also solace in the
Young parents Dan and Neva Santos, along with their two boys, David (8) and Noah (5), are among the families who are actively searching for their own ideal home, a vibrant familial community with the potential for long-lasting friendships and activities.
Dan and Neva travel to Makati and Bonifacio Global City daily, working at financial research firms but in different companies. Meanwhile, David is a third grader at the Ateneo Grade School in Katipunan. Noah, on the other hand, visits a variety of therapy centers across Quezon City.
Concerned with how their independent family schedules are vastly stretched from northern to southern Metro Manila, Dan and Neva combed the metro examining a myriad of living options – from BGC to Pasig to Quezon City – for a place where they could potentially settle down. They found themselves, more often than not, stuck on the fence — that is until they came across The Arton along The New Katipunan in Quezon City.
“On the way to work, we happened to come across a billboard of The Arton, a Rockwell development in Katipunan, and that instantly piqued our interest,” said Dan. “Soon after, we were able to inquire and see the scale model and showroom when we visited the Power Plant Mall. Everything was great and it fit the timing and our budget perfectly so we grabbed the opportunity!”
With Neva’s parents residing just a short drive away, The Arton seemed like a perfect fit for the family, particularly because David’s school is a ten-minute walk away from the residence.
“While Dan and I would still have our regular travel, it will be much more convenient for the kids with their schools nearby, and that is really the most important factor,” Neva said.
Having lived in Quezon City all her life, Neva loves the fact that she doesn’t have to relocate very far from the environment she has come to know and love. Even now, she admits that they never strayed too far from the surrounding area, mostly frequenting locations such as Katipunan, UP Diliman and various retail establishments during weekends.
“Quezon City has always been home to us and I like being familiar and secure with my environment as I wouldn’t be moving too far from where I grew up. My childhood friends and even my college friends are all still here. This is the community that we built for ourselves when we were kids and we’re grateful that we get to start another community with our own children nearby” said Neva.
Dan added, “While I may originally be from Parañaque, I immediately noticed that the Katipunan community was very tight-knit. Most of the friends and co-parents we met at David’s school are all very close and they all live in the area. That’s why we we chose to live at The Arton because we really want to sustain the relationships and the community we became a part of.”
Being the only high-end residential high-rise development in the area, The Arton has already garnered a reputation for being a premier exclusive community that is particularly family-oriented and designed with the well-being of its homeowners as a priority. The development also boasts of a 80:20 ratio of open space and amenities to buildings which is a welcome addition for families who are in search of some fresh air without leaving the bustling city.
“Having open space is really a big factor for us as it is quite rare for condominiums in Manila to even have room for it. When you have kids, you don’t want them to stay confined in their rooms all day; you want them to get some fresh air every once in a while,” Dan said.
While the Santos family has yet to experience condominium living, Neva attested to having multiple friends who are already living in Rockwell properties such as The Alvendia, 53 Benitez, and The Grove, and shared how happy they are with the developments since they moved in.
As The Arton is also a Rockwell property, the Santos family is assured of “The Rockwell Lifestyle.” There will also be multiple swimming pools a FIBA-sized indoor basketball court and function rooms where wellness classes like yoga can be held. The Arton will also have its own retail area, which will prioritize serving the most basic needs of residents.
When asked what they were most looking forward to, Dan shared he was most enthusiastic about the indoor basketball court and swimming pools where he can spend more time with his kids.
“When they grow a bit older, I really want to immerse David and Noah in sports and it will be convenient having the court and sporting amenities just below where we live. Actually, David is already a great swimmer and having a pool at home would mean he could do laps anytime.”
Meanwhile, Neva said she was simply excited for them to have a space they could finally call their own.
“We’ve been living with my parents all this time and we’re eager to build our own life with a space we chose for us and our kids. Apart from watching our dynamics as a family evolve, I want to see what the community at The Arton would be like and how we’d interact with our neighbors, as the environment is completely different from one in a subdivision.”
