Adult Autism Group sets benefit dinner
The Association for Adults with Autism Philippines (AAAP) will hold a benefit dinner called “A Special Evening for Special People,” on Friday, Nov. 3, 6 p.m. at the Manila Polo Club, Makati City. The benefit dinner is organized by Lirio Sobreviñas Covey.
Enjoy world-class entertainment, art auctions, and stories of hope while giving to a good cause, as proceeds from the benefit will go towards the development and construction of Phase One of A Special Place, the first multi-purpose, integrated residential and working community in Alfonso, Cavite for adults with autism and other special needs.
The program starts at 6 p.m. with an exhibit by autistic artists featuring works of Vico Cham, lead artist and owner of Vico’s Autism Gallery in Pasig; decorative craft by Joy Jesena Barcelon; a book signing of Growing Up with Autism: Journeys of Love, Devotion, and Hope, an anthology of narratives written by parents on their lives raising children with autism.
Dinner will be followed by an entertainment program headlined by the popular singer Radha, herself a niece of a special person, with performances by internationally known singers and persons with autism Vell Baria and Thara Santiago; a family musical ensemble led by Kevin Bautista, also a special person; and a first-time performance by the Young AAAP Trio of Ian Borleo, Andrea Alviso and Macky Palomares.
Program emcees are Triccie Sison, chair of the Philippine Ballet Theatre, and Jef Flores, 2016 and 2017 PhilStage’s Gawad Buhay awardee. Guests are advised to bring their dancing shoes for the musical and dance hour ending the program.
Tickets are available at the following rates: Friend of A Special Place – P5,000/pax; reserve a table for 10 at P45,000, and at sponsorship levels – with silver at P15,000 for two seats; gold at P30,000 for three seats; and platinum at P50,000 for four seats. Deposits can be made to Association for Adults with Autism Philippines, BPI Acct # 0401-0099-49 or at the door on Nov. 3. Donor names or company logos will be placed in the program.
