Manhunt on for Grab driver’s alleged killer

The Pasay City police yesterday named the man who allegedly shot dead Grab driver Gerardo Maquidato Jr. and carjacked his vehicle on Oct. 26.

A manhunt has also been launched for Narc Tulod Delimios, also known as Nikolo or Miko, who is also the subject of an arrest warrant for murder in Parañaque, said Superintendent Gene Licud, Pasay’s deputy police chief for operations.

Delimios was identified after his partner, identified only as Giselle, went to the Pasay police, saying he used her cell phone to book a ride with Grab along F.B. Harrison street, an hour before Maquidato was shot in the head along Bonanza street and shoved out of the Toyota Innova (YV 7109) he drove.

Judge Rolando How of Parañaque City issued a warrant for the arrest of Delimios and Jeric Lim on Feb. 3, 2015.

Grab declined to comment on the development so as not to impede the investigation.

Maquidato’s widow, on the other hand, went to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) death investigation division yesterday to seek help in probing her husband’s killing.

Brenda also called on her husband’s killer to surface and tell her why he did it. She sobbed as she talked to reporters.

The owner of the Innova that Maquidato was driving also sought the NBI’s help to find her car.

She also asked Grab Philippines for assistance since she uses the income from Maquidato’s driving to pay the loan she took out for the car.

She described Maquidato as “helpful, kind, trustworthy.”

“After I texted him the share of our earnings, he replied with,

‘Salamat sa tiwala (Thank you for the trust),’” she described the last text message she received from Maquidato just before his cell phone went dead.
