Robinsons Malls kicks off the season with a spirit of giving

-

Robinsons Malls marked the beginning of the holiday season by giving hope and joy to the Cancer Ward of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

Through The Gift of Change (TGOC), a coin bank donation campaign which aims to generate funds to support its existing beneficiaries all over the Philippines, a very special and meaningful program was held at Robinsons Place Manila dedicated to 70 young cancer patients and their parents from the Cancer Institute of PGH.

To start off the event, Santa Claus and his elves together with two mascots gave out early Christmas presents to the beneficiaries as they welcomed them with open arms. Several activities were also lined up to get the children in a joyous mood. For one, Daiso organized an origami session led by Teacher Blanca where the children learned how to make different animals made from paper such as dogs, hearts and rabbits. Afterwards, visual artist and painter, Anina Rubio, taught the kids how to draw and paint a Christmas parol. The activity was made extra special as they wrote their heartfelt wishes on their artworks. Finally, the children listened to a heartwarming story about family narrated by Marian Siquijor together with The Voice Kids’ grand champion, Lyca Gairanod, and The Voice Kids’ finalist Noel Comia during the interactive storytelling session.

After all the exciting activities, the children and their parents sat down for a delicious meal. The menu was especially prepared to cater to the needs of the children.

The magic of Christmas for the beneficiaries does not end there for the giant Christmas tree finally lit up, bringing holiday cheer to everyone. Stylishly adorned in larger-than-life snowflakes, glittery Christmas balls, and elaborate arrangements in champagne gold and silver, the 40-foottall Christmas tree sparkled and shone throughout the night. At the center of it all are life-sized children carolers holding musical instruments, imbibing a cheerful holiday spirit.

As the event nears its end, a slew of musical performances from Kapamilya stars capped off the celebration much to the excitement of the beneficiaries and the mall-goers. The Voice Kids’ finalist Noel Comia rocked the night as he performed his version of Rocking Around

the Christmas Tree while The Voice Kids’ Grand Champion, Lyca Gairanod, showed her singing prowess as she performed for the crowd. Kapamilya heartthrob, Matteo Guidicelli, also joined in the celebration as he serenaded the audience with sweet and romantic songs.
