4 kill laborer after insulting girlfriend

A constructi­on worker was beaten and stabbed to death by four men outside a bar in San Andres Bukid, Manila on Thursday night.

Raymond Ordonia Ferrer, 51, was drinking with suspects Rene Tolin, 29, and his brother Anthony, 27; Jesencio Canonigo Roxas, 26; and Emy Celino Buday, 25, in the Jefjef Bar and Restaurant along Zobel Roxas street.

The Tolin brothers and Roxas are all tricycle drivers.

The suspects allegedly insulted Ferrer’s reported girlfriend, who works at the bar, triggering a brawl.

Other bar workers intervened and brought the five men outside the bar.

Closed-circuit television footage from Barangay 767 Zone 83 caught Anthony hitting Ferrer with a dust pan, Buday and Roxas taking turns punching and kicking him and Rene stabbing him twice in the body.

Ferrer’s body was later discovered along Zafiro street at 4:30 a.m. Friday.

The four suspects later surrendere­d to barangay chairperso­n Marnie Buluag, while Rene’s partner surrendere­d the knife he used to stab Ferrer.
