Good weather seen for Asean meet

- Helen Flores

Good weather will continue to prevail over Metro Manila today as leaders from Southeast Asia and dialogue partners meet for the 12th East Asia Summit and other meetings.

Metro Manila will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The temperature in the capital will range from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.

The low-pressure area off General Santos City dissipated yesterday but a new LPA was spotted 335 kilometers west northwest of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan as of 3 p.m.

PAGASA said the weather system would bring moderate to heavy rains and thunder- storms over Palawan, which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

The agency, however, said the LPA over Palawan has a slim chance of intensifying into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 to 48 hours.
