Families’ guide to will-writing, trusts and inheritance
To help families preserve their legacy in handing it down to the next generations, the Center for Global Best Practices will run a one-day pioneering seminar entitled, “Families’ Guide to wills, trusts and inheritance: WillWriting, trust-making and inheritance-giving the right way,” scheduled on Dec. 7 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City.
The fear of many grandparents, parents and families who worked so hard for their wealth is for it to be wasted or end up in the hands of bad relatives and outside predators in case of their death or incapacity. When you want to spare your loved ones of the burden of dividing and even quarrelling over your estate, or the pain of having to pay for the unnecessary legal costs and taxes, one should write a will or create a living trust. It is the right thing to do. When you don’t have one, you run the risk of your assets going to waste. Others attempt to write a will without proper guidance. But writing a defective will is as good as having no will. In many instances, this becomes a subject of long, painful litigation.
To help you and your family on this legacy making initiative, this one-day seminar will provide a practical guide on will-writing the right way and creating living trusts that address properly the many issues including: a) the care of minor children or your parents and other loved ones after your death; b) your care in case of incapacity; c) guardianships; d) administration of your estate and many more!
