4 killed in shootings

Four persons were killed in separate shootings in Luzon and the Visayas in the past two days.

Ermina Amante was shot dead by an unidentified assailant who entered her eatery in San Pablo City, Laguna yesterday.

Witnesses said the gunman fled on a waiting motorcycle.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.

In Iloilo, village watchman Rodolfo Graciano and his five-year-old grandson were walking in Barangay Luca, Ajuy town when he was shot dead by a lone assailant.

The gunman did not harm the boy.

Probers are eyeing a land dispute as the motive for the killing.

On the same day, cattle trader Reynante Collado was killed by suspected robbers in Lal-lo, Cagayan.

Collado and his friend Alvin Liban were traveling in Barangay Sta. Maria when two motorcycle-riding men opened fire at them.

Liban managed to run and hide until the gunmen left.

Meanwhile, security guard Christopher Dasalla, 42, was killed while his uncle Delimar Dassalla, 54, was wounded in a shooting rampage in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur.

The victims and Delimar‘s brother Marcial were having a drinking session with their friends in Barangay Camarao when a quarrel broke out among them.

Marcial reportedly pulled out a gun and fired shots indiscriminately, hitting his brother and cousin.

Responding police officers arrested Marcial.
