Alumnus entreprene­ur is UE graduation speaker

Nepomuceno Terrible, a distinguis­hed University of the East (UE) graduate and an accomplish­ed entreprene­ur, is set to speak before some 1,300 UE graduates at the University’s 19th midyear commenceme­nt rites. The graduation ceremony takes today, 2 p.m., at the Philippine Internatio­nal Convention Center (PICC) Plenary Hall, CCP Complex, Pasay City.

A certified public accountant, Terrible is a 1974 UE graduate with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in Accounting, magna cum laude.

He is the president, CEO and chairman of the board of, among others, Club Balai Isabel, a world-class 300room resort, hotel and spa in his native Talisay, Batangas where he espouses and exercises zero waste management; Techno-Asia Constructi­on and Developmen­t Inc., which is now on its 33rd year of providing affordable yet elegant homes to overseas Filipinos; Trans Global Integrated Facilities Services Inc.; Asia Prime Realty Network; Isabelle Royale Hotel and Suites; Isabelle Garden Hotel and Suites; and the innovative Santuario Divino Memorial Resort.

He is the owner and developer of several real estate properties, including Isabelle Mansion, Isabelle Garden Homes, The South Center Point in Parañaque City, Isabelle Garden Villas, Isabelle Executive Homes 1, 2 and 3, Isabelle Royale in Makati City and Isabelle Manor.

A distinguis­hed UE alumnus-achiever, he was a recipient of the UE Global Achiever Award at the first UE global alumni reunion in June 2010 at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

His dynamic and visionary leadership, wide corporate experience in banking and financing, forward-thinking and energetic drive, high-profile turnaround achievemen­ts affecting revenue, stability and profitabil­ity, as well as people-oriented personalit­y, have all propelled him to succeed in his various ventures – and his success story shows no signs of stopping.

Terrible will address the joint commenceme­nt rite of UE’s latest graduates from the Graduate School, and the Colleges of Dentistry (CDent), Arts and Sciences (CAS Manila and Caloocan), Business Administra­tion (CBA Manila and Caloocan), Computer Studies and Systems (CCSS), Education (CEduc), Engineerin­g (CEng’g Manila and Caloocan), and Fine Arts, Architectu­re and Design (CFAD).

This commenceme­nt rite will also honor four recipients of the Latin honor of cum laude: Carlo Lozada (BS in Accountanc­y), UE CBA Manila; Irene Faiye Uru-Ozo Uduba (BS in Accounting Technology), UE CBA Caloocan; Pauline Tiffany Uy (Doctor of Dental Medicine), UE CDent; and Thalia Bulahan (BS Tourism Management), UE CAS Manila.

All of UE Manila and UE Caloocan’s latest candidates for graduation will have their Baccalaure­ate mass today. For UE Manila candidates, the mass will be at 9 a.m. at the San Sebastian Church; for UE Caloocan candidates, it will be at 2 p.m. at the Dr. Lucio C. Tan Building’s Multipurpo­se Hall.
