- Janvic Mateo

Family and friends are mourning the death of the 22-year-old son of Philippine Basketball Association chairman and 1-PACMAN partylist Rep. Mikee Romero.

In a post on his Facebook account, Romero asked for prayers as he announced the untimely death of his son Miguel last Thursday.

“We love Miguel very very much and I don’t know how to bear this pain of losing him,” said the lawmaker. “Please pray for the soul of Miguel and also prayers that our family can bear this unbelievable pain we are experiencing.”

No details regarding the death of the younger Romero were released.

On social media, friends have also paid tribute to Miguel, whom they described as a “good friend” who was “gone too soon.”

Miguel’s remains will be cremated this afternoon after a mass and eulogy at Heritage Park in Taguig City.

Counseling for CSA students

Meanwhile, the administration of Colegio San Agustin (CSA) in Dasmariñas, Makati has provided counseling services to its students after the death of Grade 11 student Luis Tolentino last week.

In a statement, the CSA said it held a series of meetings to create an action plan to help the school community deal with the loss of the student.

“The CSA administration is sincerely dedicated to spending the remaining days of this school year meeting the students individually and in small groups, so we can better understand their feelings, address their questions, and guide them through the grieving process,” said the school.

“It is our aim to provide them with the necessary closure they need, and restore normalcy as soon as we can,” it added.

The CSA said it immediately suspended the scheduled examinations this month because of what happened.

It also urged everyone to refrain from engaging in talks that can be misleading and hurtful to the family and friends of Tolentino.

The Makati police has not released any information regarding the student’s death.
