FCGCCI celebrates 113th anniversary
The Filipino Chinese General Chamber of Commerce Inc. (FCGCCI) which was established in 1904 and a sister organization of the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association Inc. (PCCAI) and Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center (CGHMC), celebrated its 113th anniversary at the Manila Hotel-Fiesta Pavilion last Nov. 7.
On the same day FCGCCI chairman emeritus Dr. James Dy inducted its new set of officers and board of directors and new youth members. Immediate past president Antonio Tan handed over the responsibility of leading the organization to incoming president Jose Castañeda Jr. Meanwhile, Jaime Co was chosen as youth chairman, who will supervise and guide the youth members.
In his speech, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea commended the contribution of the organization to the government – helping it enhance the economic status through its businesses and reaching out to the people of the Philippines through humanitarian works.
Another distinguished guest, Peoples Republic of China Ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jian Hua reiterated China’s positive intention to maintain a harmonious relationship with the Philippines by extending help in terms of bilateral agreements that are beneficial to both countries. Ambassador Zhao also recognizedthe positive influence of the organization in shaping the mind of young Filipino-Chinese entrepreneurs here in the Philippines.
Leaders of other FilipinoChinese organizations and friends from government organizations also graced the event.
