Lucky the foodie answers our quickfire questions

-

Comfort food: “Steak, pizza.” Dessert: “Cheesecake, chocolate cake, cookies. What kind of cookies? Chocolate chip, oatmeal, kagaya ng ginawa natin, we’ve got the best of both worlds — chocolate oatmeal cookies. Sarap!” One food you can eat forever: “Mexican. A nice solid beef burrito. A hot bowl of chilli con carne — never fails to hit the spot. Or curry! ‘Yan! Masarap! Pwedeng Tom yum Goong or kaya Thai curry. Ummm! Every day, I don’t mind!” Food you don’t like: “There are some flavors of coconut na hindi ko masyadong nagugustuhan. Sometimes kaya (coconut jam). If you don’t tell me about it, I can eat it. But once I know that it has a lot of coconut shavings, I tend to shy away from it.” What you can’t resist: “Manggang hilaw na namumutla. When you bite it, it’s super crunchy. Carabao mango. Yung naiisip mo pa lang, naglalaway ka na.” Most favorite ingredient: “Salt. And sugar. And spices. Everything!” All-time favorite restaurant: “Shakey’s. Pepperoni crunch. Spiced mojos.”

Then he went on to explain why he’s an endorser of Shakey’s. “So apparently, they wanted to find an endorser to help with the product. What they did was, they checked my social media. They went as far as two years back and they saw one very, very real organic tweet when I said, I finished a whole box of Shakey’s on my own. It wasn’t a paid tweet. Not an ad or anything. That was the only factor they were waiting for to get me as an endorser. So, yes, Shakey’s.” Best meal you’ve had: “A good steak and truffle fries.” What your last meal

would be: “Maybe steak? Steak pa rin?” Then he pondered a bit. “First option would be steak, second would be burrito, third would be a good, salty, pepperoni pizza. How you keep the pounds at bay: “I work out as much as I eat. But I fail miserably.”
