Christmas ‘Collab’
(Conclusion)
Uptown/Downtown wraps up its final installment on Christmas “Collab” with a background on designers Susie Bonaobra and Cor Sunglao-Kho.
“Collab” is the brainchild of a group of Manila fashion designers who thought of creating a line of luxe wear, cocktail dresses, evening and bridal gowns. Each Collab outfit is clearly couture in quality of material and fabrication, but more affordable.
Apart from Susie Bonaobra and Cor Sunglao-Kho, other partner designers include Luis “Chito” De Los Santos, Therese Andaya and Jazel Sy.
Susie Bonaobra
A proud graduate of the Fashion Institute of the Philippines, Susie Bonaobra’s creations are a playful mix of the modern and the classic, a masterful balance of subtlety and intricacy, an embodiment of her design motto of “elegance in simplicity.” From her custom-made couture gowns to her ready-to-wear collection, Bonaobra’s design principle is evident — simply romantic and elegantly wearable.

Cor Sunglao-Kho
Cor Sunglao-Kho started her fashion career as a pattern teacher at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines where she took her fashion courses. After a year, she then opened her shop, mainly focusing on street wear and consigning to some indie shops at department stores. As time passed, she found herself falling in love with bridal/formal wear and the process of creating custom masterpieces for individual clients. To date, her shop caters to a steady stream of loyal clients. She has also ventured into retail again by adding Little Miss Lacey, a new line of baby gowns, to her brand.
