SIA celebrates Christmas with Bantay Bata scholars

-

Christmas is all about happiness, love, and gratitude. It’s the perfect time to reflect on the year that was and be thankful for the countless blessings that we have received. More importantly, it’s the season of giving back and spreading hope to make Christmas brighter and more cheerful for everyone.

There was truly no better way for Singapore Airlines (SIA) to celebrate the yuletide season than with the diligent scholars of Bantay Bata and their parents. A simple yet meaningful get-together was organized by SIA and Bantay Bata to spread the Christmas spirit to the kids they have been supporting through the

Bantay Edukasyon program. With the theme “Give Light on Christmas Day,” the gathering reflected SIA’s unwavering commitment to shine the light on the youth’s journey towards their dreams.

“It was a very humbling experience to have celebrated Christmas with these scholars. Every year, we look forward to being with our scholars because hearing their inspiring stories and accomplishments make what we do fulfilling and worthwhile,” Eugene Goh, SIA station manager-Manila said.

Scholars from both Manila and Laguna were treated to an afternoon of fun games, prizes, and gifts from their kuyas and

ates in SIA and Bantay Bata. The talented kids also delighted the audience with their energetic production numbers. The event culminated in an inspiring Christmas tree-decorating activity where scholars and parents were asked to adorn the Christmas tree with ornaments they had written their wishes on as a symbol of thanksgiving and hope.

“Thank you for everything you have given us. I would not be here if it weren’t for your help. I promise to persevere and study well. I hope you will continue to extend your support to children like me,” a Grade 6 scholar from Laguna said.

As a message to the scholars, Goh added: “We are very proud of all your achievements. You always motivate and inspire us to continue supporting the youth. Continue to work hard and reach for your goals. May you spread the love and be a light in your own community this holiday season.”

For fifteen years, Singapore Airlines has been a partner of Bantay Bata’s Bantay Edukasyon program through which they were able to provide assistance to a total of 1,536 scholars to date. This worthy cause is part of the Airline’s unwavering commitment to helping today’s youth take flight and achieve their dreams by supporting their education.
