Family Christmas Cards
Like writing letters, the beautiful (and meaningful) practice of sending Christmas cards has been overrun by social media. Sad, isn’t it? Thank heavens for people who keep the tradition alive by updating relatives and friends with Christmas cards showing family members smiling as brightly as the neon lights that enliven silent nights.
Funfare gets (yes, very, very few!) family Christmas Cards… fewer and fewer as the years go by. This corner’s “tradition” is to showcase the family Christmas Cards received (with great pleasure!) during the season, only seven (so far) this year.
Lisa MacujaElizalde summed up the family members’ activities during the year: In 2017…Fred relived his Harvard vs Yale recordbreaking butterfly moment via a broadcast recording and spent two long afternoons in the Prado. Lisa now has a metal hip and is officially bionic. She also just finished creating her second ballet Snow White. Missy continues her studies in Boston and ventured to (and got lost in) over eight countries including a month spent in Cuba. Manuel excelled onstage singing and dancing as Graffiti Pete in In The Heights and spent his summer also acting as Laertes in Oxford. Fred and Lisa did the totally unexpected and celebrated 20 years of marriage.
