- – With Ghio Ong

Four persons were arrested in a drug bust that resulted in the seizure of party drugs Ecstasy and cocaine with an estimated street value of P1 million in Quezon City yesterday.

Michael Franz Carag, 22; Nina Recio, 27; Sarah Jane Sibayan, 25, and Dianne Eloisa Estrella, 27, were apprehended by operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in front of a restaurant along Timog Avenue in Barangay Laging Handa.

The suspects allegedly yielded 20 sachets containing about 30 grams of cocaine, 200 Ecstasy tablets, four bottles of liquid Ecstasy, P19,500 in cash, P100,000 in marked money and a car.

QCPD director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said they were conducting follow-up operations to identify the suspects’ drug supplier and their clients.

Eleazar said Recio was a former partner of Raul Antonio Cisneros, a retired US Air Force intelligence officer who was nabbed during a drug sting in Taguig City in September.

Police said they recovered P1.8 million worth of Ecstasy and shabu from Cisneros, said to be a supplier of drugs to clients of high-end bars in Taguig and Makati.

Lopez’s friend, Regie Sanchez, 48, was taken to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital for treatment.

Reports said the two were walking along Bonifacio Avenue in Barangay Central Bicutan when an unidentified assailant fired at them at around 7:15 p.m.

Probers said they were looking into drugs as a possible motive for the attack.
