New year tax updates, remedies

With the passage of Tax Reform for Accelerati­on and Inclusion (TRAIN) and the clamor of many businesses and tax practition­ers to keep themselves updated and compliant with the numerous changes on tax policies of the Duterte government, the Center for Global Best Practices will hold a one-day seminar titled, “New Year Tax Updates and Remedies” on Jan. 26 at the Marriott Hotel, Pasay City.

The seminar will provide participan­ts with updates on new tax laws, relevant 2017 BIR issuances up to January 2018. The seminar will discuss the clear guidance on the impact of business transactio­ns and the solutions-oriented approaches and remedies available to taxpayers to legally reduce one’s tax liabilitie­s which is essential in maximizing the benefits granted by law, ensuring compliance (monthly, quarterly, and annual), and minimizing and avoiding unnecessar­y tax exposures, assessment­s and penalties from the taxing authority.

The seminar will also feature the latest BIR regulation­s, memorandum circulars, and rulings together with the relevant decisions of the Court of Tax Appeals and the Supreme Court involving the national internal revenue taxes and local taxes.
