Cops nab suspect in ‘gotohan’ robbery
Police apprehended one of the four armed suspects who stole P40,000 worth of cash and gadgets from a “gotohan” (porridge) shop in Parañaque City on Saturday afternoon.
The arrest of Jesrell Arador, alias Budoy, 31, came after National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Oscar Albayalde ordered city police chief Senior Superintendent Leon Victor Rosete to solve the case in two days.
Arador was confined at an undisclosed hospital after he fractured his right arm, according to Rosete.
The suspect allegedly injured himself after he tried to escape by jumping from the second floor of a shanty near his house at the Hontiveros Compound in Barangay San Antonio at around 3:40 p.m.
Police said they recovered from Arador a .38-caliber revolver loaded with five bullets.
The suspect denied involvement in the robbery at Goto Bar along Dasa street in Barangay San Isidro on Friday.
Police said Arador and three other suspects took P15,000 from the eatery’s owner, Marilyn Vizarra, 28, who was at the counter at the time, and gadgets worth P11,000.
The suspects also took P13,500 in cash and valuables from customer Aniceto Manalo, 32, police said.
Arador and his cohorts shot Manalo before fleeing on two motorcycles.
Manalo was taken to the Las Piñas General Hospital for treatment.
Rosete said Arador was previously detained for robbery and violating Republic Act 9262 or the anti-violence against women and their children law.
Police said charges of robbery with serious physical injury and illegal possession of firearms would be filed against Arador before the Parañaque City prosecutor’s office.
