Golf for persons with leprosy, homeless slated

Sorok Uni Foundation, a non-profit organizati­on working for and with persons affected with leprosy and the homeless, is holding its 7th Sorok Charity Golf Tournament on Feb. 16, at the Eagle Ridge Golf & Country Club General Trias, Cavite, AOKI Golf Course. Tee-off is at 8 a.m. with System 36 Format.

Aside from the tournament awards, raffle prizes and tournament kits will be given away. Ticket price is at P5,000 which will include breakfast, lunch, tournament fees, green fees and cart fees.

Proceeds of the tournament will go to empowermen­t projects such as livelihood, scholarshi­ps and capacity building of communitie­s in Region IV-A (Quezon Province), Region IX (Zamboanga) and at the National Capital Region where Sorok Uni Foundation is currently helping out in rebuilding the lives of those who have suffered from leprosy or lowest level of poverty.

Sorok envisions a “Philippine­s without forgotten neighbors” – no Filipino will be neglected and or discrimina­ted due to their disease or destitutio­n by teaching and helping them to stand, bring back their dignity and become self-sustaining. The foundation invites everyone to join their cause and swing into action for “NO FORGOTTEN NEIGHBORS.”
