AMA Titans rip PATTS for 2nd NCRAA win

AMA University banked on its balanced scoring attack to clobber host squad, PATTS, 82-61, in the Sta. Lucia Land-NCRAA men’s basketball tournament at the PATTS College of Aeronautic­s Gym.

Daniel Salonga scored 20 points and big man Owne Graham finished with a monster performanc­e of 18 points and 22 boards as the Titans, coached by Mark Herrera, picked up their second straight win in this tournament supported by Sta. Lucia Land and outfitted by LGR.

Also winning over the weekend were Philippine Merchant Maritime School, National College of Business Administra­tion and La Salle-Dasmariñas.

PMMS bounced back from an opening day setback and turned the tides on Pamantasan Ng Lungsod Ng Muntinlupa, 89-73.

A dizzying 16-0 run in the third period enabled the Mariners to break free from a tight match on their way to the win column.

Bryan Hilario finished with a doubledoub­le performanc­e of 23 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks to impose his will on both ends of the court. Aaron Morante also played a solid game, hitting five triples on his way to finishing 20 markers.

NCBA outlasted Emilio Aguinaldo CollegeCav­ite, 84-77, in an exciting game that went to overtime.

The Wildcats rallied from as high as 22 points down in the third period, 30-52, and forced overtime via a putback by Ferdan Guanzon with 2.9 seconds left in regulation, 69-69.

In the extra period, the Wildcats sustained their run and banked on crucial plays from Carl Manangkil and John Randolph Oriero.
