Alaska renews partnership with Jr NBA

Alaska Milk Corp. and Jr. NBA Philippines have renewed their partnership in their continuing effort to sustain a program that serves as a breeding ground for future Filipino basketball stars.

The NBA’s global youth basketball program began with coaches seminar and official tipoff ceremony, graced by officials from Alaska Milk Corp., NBA Philippines and Asia and its partners at the at Don Bosco Technical Institute in Makati yesterday.

Aside from raising future cage stars, Alaska’s newly designated managing director Marco Bertacca said it will be his major objective to help ease the country’s malnutrition problem.

“Some of the health problems of children here are malnutrition and obesity. We will continue to do projects that promote active and healthy lifestyle,” said Bertacca.

The camp which will run until May 2018 has produced some of the most promising basketball talents in the country today.

Alaska Milk and Jr. NBA/WNBA have laid down the children’s pathway to success by building their character at an early age through the STAR values: Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude and Respect.

The Jr. NBA camp will hold regional selection camps in Bacolod (Feb. 10-11), Butuan (Feb. 24-25), Baguio (March 17-18) and another in Manila (April 7-8) with the top 37 boys and girls to be invited in the National Training Camp which is tentatively set in the last week of April or early May.
