HERE’S WATER THAT FIGHTS ALZHEIMER’S, PARKINSON’S AND DIABETE S

- CHONX TIBAJIA

Hydrogen water is the newest health trend and celebrities like Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Zac Efron are all over it — but how is it different from regular water?

Simply put, hydrogen water is H2O with more H, and it comes in different packages. In the United States, they’re selling magnesium sticks that create more hydrogen in water, and canned hydrogen water in special aluminum packaging that keeps the H from escaping. The most common way to get hydrogen water is by making it yourself, using a special water bottle that infuses regular drinking water with fresh molecular hydrogen.

Dr. Aivee Aguilar-Teo of the Aivee Group, recently came out with her own branded Aivee Water, which is a hydrogen-generating water bottle with more features than usual.

“Water plays a very important role in our bodies,” says Dr. Aivee. “It’s always been recommended to drink a lot of water, but now we can go to the next level, which is drinking even healthier water and one of the ways is to drink hydrogen water. We’ve been serving hydrogen water at Aivee Café, but a lot of our patients say, ‘We don’t just want to drink it in your café, we want to bring it home.’ So I thought, why not make it available to more people by making it portable? So there’s a demand. People now consciously make sure that what their taking in is really beneficial for them. But we waited for the technology to really improve, and we wanted to make the device user-friendly and something that people wouldn’t mind carrying.”

Dr. Z Teo adds, “Think of it as the iPhone X of hydrogen water bottles.”

The Aivee Water bottle is a nice, blue bottle with a nifty attachment that uses Proton Exchange Membrane Technology and pure titanium plates. “Other bottles use titanium-plated metal plates, which is not good, because that could produce chlorine in the water,” Dr. Z shared. It produces water with 900 parts-perbillion hydrogen concentration, which is 200 percent more than other brands. The Aivee Water bottle uses Japanese technology and is made in Korea, whereas most bottles sold locally are made in China.

“Hydrogen water” is just so generic, whereas Aivee Water speaks to her market: stylish, fit and well-informed individuals who are building their lifestyle around health and, consequently, beauty. Aivee Water promises to make your life better. Here’s how.

Studies show that hydrogen-rich

Aivee Water also increases metabolism and eliminates post-exercise soreness.

water has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. “Most diseases are caused by inflammation,” says Dr. Aivee, adding that hydrogen water strengthens the immune system, increases metabolism, fights diseases like diabetes, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Athletes actually drink it to be able to perform in back-to-back games. To be able to reap these benefits, you’ll have to have healthy water-drinking habits to begin with, and then substitute regular water with Aivee Water. This means more energy and clarity, faster recovery from exercise, less muscle fatigue, and, yes, better skin.

Aivee Water can also substitute supplements and other oral anti-oxidants like glutathione, vitamin C, and CoQ10, which only attacks free radicals outside the cell.

“We’ve been developing Aivee Water for a year, and this particular technology became of interest to us because it’s so small that it’s able to penetrate the cell and neutralize the free radicals in the cells, and this helps us improve the immune system, increase metabolism and at least help fight diseases on a very natural level. And it’s actually very practical because we do drink water every day,” Dr. Aivee says. How do you work the Aivee Water bottle? The process is easy. Pour water into the bottle, hold the power button for a few seconds. When the green light comes on, it’s ready to operate. Press the power button again to generate hydrogen water. It takes about five minutes to brew a full bottle, then the unit will automatically turn off. The hydrogen stays in the water for four to five hours. When the power button turns red, that means you need to charge the unit; however, you can still generate hydrogen water three more times before charging. Do not put juice or lemon water in the bottle. You can also attach regular bottled water to the device if you don’t want to carry a glass bottle around. The average lifespan of the Aivee Water bottle is five years and you can get it at Aivee Clinic branches for an introductory price of P15,000. How much Aivee Water will you have to drink to see results? The idea is to take it as you would water — and the recommended daily allowance of water is eight glasses a day. Of course, a complementary healthy, water-rich diet would also help. Dr. Aivee says, “The technology is just getting better and better. There’s no definite quantity that you have to drink to benefit from it. The more you drink, the better. If you drink a lot of water, of course it’s much more beneficial to drink healthier water.” If you, like myself, have made a resolution to drink more water, the Aivee Water bottle might help you do just that, if not make the road toward accomplishing it a little more interesting. * * * The Aivee Water bottle is available at Aivee Clinic branches.
