Angono shares UN global goals through Artdialogo
Creativity is contagiously shared when it is intertwined with a good purpose.
The local government of Angono Rizal and the Angono Cultural Heritage Office and Artdialogo Asia brought the 3rd cycle of artdialogo. It is the first of its kind of international event presented in the roster of activities during the Higantes Festival in Angono Rizal. United Nations Global goals took centerstage through its exhibition.
Artists from various parts of the world, educators, youth and many other institutions shared the essence of cultural diversity and creative synergy at its opening reception and forum which formally opened the five-day program at the art capital of the Philippines.
The opening ceremony at the SM Center Angono Cinema was well attended.
Sharifah Ezneeda Wafa, the counsellor of the Malaysian embassy graced the audience and delivered a timely keynote speech.
She highlighted the role of art in uniting people and cultures and building a culture of tolerance and understanding among people. Plenary sessions on cultural heritage and creative economy which also tackles the role of artists in those topics.
International Society of Art Educators through Arts World Council for Asia and the Pacific; Robert Hayden Jr.; Owen Saguinsin, director of Angono Cultural Heritage Office; and Swedish artist Jeanette Kamphuis were some of the people who shared their expertise to the crowd.
There are also workshops by international artists and local artists. Maestro Fernando Sena, the Father of Philippine art workshops was also present and gave a workshop enjoyed by many attendees of all ages.
Mehndi Art, an art form sharing the profound heritage of India was also shared to the public through international artist Shiyamala Subramaniam.
Chinese Ink Art was also enjoyed by the crowd as Calligraphy masters Michael Yee and Ng Poh Kong.
Orville Tiamson, educator and artist, shared his expertise in transmedia and mixed media.
Artdialogo was made possible and successful though its partners the local government of Angono Rizal, the Angono Cultural Heritage Office, Fernando Sena Art Facility, Helping One Person Everyday; SM Center Angono, regional lead school of Angono Rizal and Tiamson Art Gallery.
