Mastering Filipino culture for effective mngm’t

-

It is always a challenge for expats and even Filipinos to manage and lead their people if they do not fully understand the local culture. To bridge the gap between foreign and local workers, the Center for Global Best Practices will hold a special program titled, Mastering Filipino Culture for Effective Management on Feb. 1 at the Manila Marriott Hotel, Pasay City.

The one-day training is the only program for expats, leaders of the organization, managers, supervisors, HR practitioners and anyone who want to fully understand unique Filipino values, beliefs, and traits. The seminar will also give a comprehensive discussion about the culture elements (language, behavior and arts), Filipinisms, how to motivate, manage and lead effectively using cultural perspectives.

The program will feature cultural-diversity expert, Ramon De Leon, who is the former managing director of Ayala Corp., under the Office of the Lead Director for Infrastructure. He was seconded to the various Ayala-owned subsidiaries to help in the corporate transformation of Globe Telecoms, Manila Water, IMI, and BPI Family Bank. He has helped many expatriates work effectively in the Philippines, including multi-racial Asians, Europeans and Americans.
