Sun Life launches crowdsourcing program

-

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Sun Life Financial-Philippines Foundation Inc., in partnership with The Spark Project, recently launched a crowdsourcing program in pursuit of innovative projects that can help boost financial literacy in the country.

Dubbed “Brighter World Builder Challenge,” the program is open to cause-oriented groups, social enterprises, and nonprofit organizations that have financial literacy initiatives.

Entries will be selected based on the following criteria: social impact, creativity and innovation, potential for scaling up and/or replication, financial viability, and organizational leadership.

Ten initiatives will be selected and be put into motion this year. Each one will receive a grant funding worth P100,000 from Sun Life Foundation, crowdfunding support from The Spark Project, one of the leading crowdfunding platforms and communities in the Philippines, and a chance to develop their initiatives in a Social Impact Bootcamp by The Spark Project.

“Sun Life Foundation is looking forward to working hand-in-hand with groups that can offer creative ways to effectively address the financial literacy problem in the country. We believe there are many out there that have brilliant ideas,” said Kristine Millete, Sun Life Foundation executive director. “If we unite behind this cause, slowly but surely, we can help pave the way for a brighter Philippines.”

Online applications are being accepted for the “Brighter World Builder Challenge” and will run until Jan. 31. For complete details, visit www. thesparkproject.com
