Sweethearts of Christ brings back Reo Brothers

-

What better way to start the New Year than cultivating a heart for others? Or nurturing a missional spirit?

The Sweethearts of Christ Foundation Inc. has just made easy and fun the heart of giving. It is bringing back the famed Reo Brothers to raise funds for its numerous livelihood, feeding and scholarship programs.

To be held tomorrow, 7 p.m. at Bellevue Hotel Filinvest, the dinner-dance cum concert will feature retro music of the 60’s and 70’s.

The Sweethearts of Christ Foundation is a churchmandated organization of St. James the Great Parish, whose thrust is adopting communities in an integrated, wholistic way, with focus on nutrition, education and livelihood projects. Value formation and catechism underpin these altruistic endeavors.

Started in 2001 by likeminded friends, following a transformative retreat, the foundation has since been a force for good, helping seven communities, several scholars, malnourished and undernourished children, and unemployed adults via livelihood projects. Some women have been trained to produce handicrafts now sold in SM Cultura outlets, while the men in these communities are undergoing training in professional gardening and welding for productive employment.

Charity re-defined – making a positive difference in the lives of others the fun way, is what this fundraiser is all about.
