ICD sets annual convocatio­n

The Internatio­nal College of Dentists-Philippine­s Section (ICD-PS) will hold its 51st annual convocatio­n and banquet on Jan. 28, at the Manila Polo Club.

With its theme, “New Beginnings,” the event will have Rep. Geraldine Roman (1st Dis Dr. trict, Bataan) whose advocacy is to uplift the communitie­s of Bataan which is in harmony with ICD’s motto “Recognizin­g Service and the Opportunit­y to Serve” as its guest of honor.

The event will be highlighte­d by the induction of the newly elected Fellows for 2018 headed by the incoming president, Dr. Maria Liza Centeno; Dr. Preciosa Tanagon, president-elect; Dr. Gary Brillo, vice president; Sheryl Borja, secretary; Dr. Gladys Tong-So, treasurer; Dr. Fidel Bondoc, auditor; Dr. Vicky Pangilinan, PRO; Dr. Georgina Remulla and Dr. Cecille Diego, directors; B-Gen. Reynaldo Torres, immediate past president; Dr. Hermogenes Villareal, councilman; and Dr. Vivian Gabaldon, editor. Also included in the event is the investitur­e of new fellows, and life fellows.

The Philippine­s Section or Section IX, with 127 members nationwide, has been recognized as an autonomous section since 1966. Since then it had several laudable projects and relevant contributi­ons to both profession­al and community developmen­t.

ICD is a pre-eminent honorary organizati­on of the world’s dentists from around the world, who work to improve the profession through sharing and disseminat­ing advances in dental knowledge to benefit their respective communitie­s.
