Hospitality supervisor training held in Region XI
More than 30 participants attended the recently concluded Certified Hospitality Supervisor program in Region XI, delivered by Asia World Hospitality.
The participating properties included Seda Abreeza, which was also the workshop venue, Elysia Spa, Infinity Suites, Star Hotel, Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao, Prime-power Manpower Services, Camp Holiday Resort and Recreation Area, Hotel Esse, Malagos Garden, Microtel, Cicada Hills, Costa Marina, ALU Hotel, My Hotel and Uno Hotel.
The Certified Hospitality Supervisor (CHS) program is designed for hospitality supervisors, forming part of an elite group of hospitality pro- fessionals around the world.
This designation recognizes the high-level of expertise of an individual in the sector, acknowledging that education, experience and dedica- tion are instrumental. The Certified Hospitality Supervisor is a 4-day workshop wherein the participants undergo training on an interactive learning development, participation and completion of the examination. The key areas of testing are supervision, leadership, time management, effective communication, problem solving and conflict resolution, orientation and training, motivation and team building, staffing and scheduling, improving employee performance.
The CHS program is developed with the input of industry specialists around the world and covers all areas of hospitality. They are designed to help develop hospitality professionals in the level of supervision. The CHS is one of the most prestigious certifications available to a hospitality supervisor.
The CHS designation provides recognition for these skills. Recognized worldwide, the CHS designation is the lodging industry’s highest acknowledgment of professionalism for supervisors in the hospitality industry.
The Department of Tourism in Region XI, led by regional director Roberto Alabado III and Clarence Yog, hosted the workshop, with Shyrra Lou Martina Do-Jadulco and Damaris Damayo-Bacalso as trainers.
