Star-studded Dinagyang set at Iloilo Business Park

Iloilo Business Park is rolling out a star-studded grand celebratio­n as it takes part in the 50th anniversar­y of one of the biggest and most colorful festivitie­s in the country, the Dinagyang Festival.

Musical performanc­es from today’s most popular bands, OPM and TV stars headline the jam-packed weekend festivity, which is set to be made even more colorful and vibrant by world-class and uniquely Ilonggo cultural showcases.

The festivitie­s kick off with the Dinagyang Warriors Parade at the Festive Walk Parade on Jan. 26 to 28. The colorful parade will see dance troupes in colorful and elaborate costumes performing street dances as they go around Festive Walk Parade from 7 to 9 p.m.

The party continues in the evening with performanc­es at the Viva Music Festival on Jan. 26. Lighting up the night with electrifyi­ng performanc­es at the Megaworld Boulevard are top rock bands Chicosci, Franco and Urbandub. Singer-songwriter Clara Benin will perform at the Festive Walk Parade at 11 p.m.

On Jan. 27 the Dinagyang Car Show will be held with over 150 modified and designed cars on display at the Festive Walk Parade. Fans of Kapuso stars Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix, meanwhile, can catch their idols as they perform live at the GMA Mall Tour at 5:30 p.m.

Highlighti­ng the celebratio­ns on Jan. 27 is the much-awaited 1st Dinagyang Float and Lights Parade. Over 50 colorful floats from various organizati­ons are expected to join the inaugural parade, which will go around downtown Iloilo City and gather at the Iloilo Business Park for its final stop around 7 p.m.

Revelers can continue their celebratio­n and dance the night away at the Viva Music Festival, where top DJs including Tomorrowla­nd’s Mad Mac will be heating up the night with their live party music at the Megaworld Boulevard.

Capping off the night in spectacula­r fashion is the Glitters in the Sky, a grand fireworks display that will light up the sky at 10 p.m.

Dinagyang festivitie­s at Iloilo Business Park close on a high note with multi awardwinni­ng rap icon Gloc 9 performing his greatest hits at the Festive Walk Parade at 11 p.m.

Foodies can also enjoy a distinctiv­ely Ilonggo food fiesta at the Festive Walk Parade Food Festival, which will run from Jan. 26 to 28.

From the famous La Paz batchoy to fresh seafood and hard-to-find delicacies, foodies can explore a sumptuous variety of Ilonggo cuisine from homegrown restaurant­s and Festive Walk Parade establishm­ents including Grillers Oyster House, 13th Street Espresso, Ayra Steak, Buto’t Balat, Barista Grounds, Teodorico’s, Café Panay, Jip Bab, Bistro Carcossa, Book Latte and more.
