For sleeping, drinking on duty, 18 cops sacked

The police chiefs of Pasay and Muntinlupa relieved 18 policemen, including two precinct commanders, caught sleeping and drinking while on duty at their respective precincts by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Oscar Albayalde.

Muntinlupa City police chief Senior Superinten­dent Dante Novicio said that Senior Inspector Mark Oyad, commander of police community precinct (PCP)-4 in Sucat, Police Officers 2 Michael del Monte and George Guay, and PO1 Jocelyn Montero were relieved from their posts.

Montero and Guay were also not wearing the proper uniform while on duty.

Albayalde caught the four policemen drinking liquor at the precinct around midnight yesterday.

Oyad explained that they were drinking as part of the birthday celebratio­n of one of the policemen.

Albayalde also ordered Pasay City police chief Senior Superinten­dent Dionisio Bartolome to relieve 13 police officers, including PCP 8 commander Senior Inspector John Glenn Siguan, caught sleeping while on duty inside the station in Maricaban during the NCRPO chief’s surprise visit.

He also caught Siguan sleeping inside his office.

The relieved cops have been stripped of their badges, disarmed and reassigned to the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
